Bizcochitos A real New Mexican Tradition - recipe
The Bobcat Inn Happy Holidays! The inn is all decorated for Christmas and it is a cold snowy day. It would be a great day to make bizcochitos,a wonderful New Mexican cookie dating back from territorial days. I am including the recipe if any of you want to make them. It is one of the only recipes I use lard in and it does make a difference. Our cookbooks make great Christmas presents as well as gift certificates to the inn. We are filling up fast. Christmas is a magical time in Santa Fe. The farolito walk is on Christmas eve and is beautiful. The historic east side residents and galleries light candles in paper bags filled with sand and build small fires for carolers to warm up by. There is hot cider and if there is snow it is even more special. The Plaza is all lit up and the Cathedral welc
